DRIVERS in and around Ryedale will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures are due to start this week:

• A64, from 8pm December 5 to 6am December 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Rillington, traffic signals for technololgy works.

• A64, from 9.30am to 7pm on December 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound, Sherburn, lane closure for YW works.

• A64, from 9pm December 7 to 6am December 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Crambeck to High Hutton, traffic signals for general cleaning and maintenance.

• A64, from 8pm December 12 to 6am December 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Welburn to Low Hutton, traffic signals for general cleaning and maintenance.

• A64, from 8pm December 13 to 6am December 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A64 eastbound and westbound, Welburn to Low Hutton, traffic signals for general cleaning and maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
