BASKETBALL sessions have been launched in Ryedale with a focus on getting all abilities involved.

Basketball Developments CIC is a social enterprise, which was set up last year by Martin Roberts, 47, from Scarborough.

The social enterprise champions inclusivity and offers basketball sessions for all abilities.

Martin said that at the heart of these sessions is using basketball to “battle mental health and wellbeing.”

He said the sessions aim to break down barriers and build confidence.

The sessions take place at Norton College Sports Hall with additional sessions at Pickering Leisure Centre.

During school terms, sessions run at Norton College on a Monday from 4.30pm to 5.30pm for two to six-year-olds, and a session for girls aged eight to 16 from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
