BROOKLYN Ladies were held at home for the second game in a row in the North Riding Women's League.

The new Ryedale outfit drew 2-2 with Huntington Ladies but probably should have won.

Brooklyn started brightly and were soon ahead when a superb half-volley from Leila Daffern from just inside the area found the back of the net.

Brooklyn wasted three good chances before Huntington were scored a penalty after a foul by Sam Clay. Brooklyn came out much brighter in the second half and constant good work down the right from Aimee Machin, Hannah Green and Daffern paid off as the latter crossed into the six-yard box and striker Chantelle Burdett bundled the ball over the line.

Brooklyn, however, were punished for not killing off the game as, in the final moments, Huntington levelled again after being awarded a second penalty for a foul by Chloe Shipley.

Sarah Jaques was voted player of the match and Lorna Cumming made a welcome return in goal.

Brooklyn Ladies next face Middlesbrough Lionesses in the County Cup.
