MALTON & Norton RUFC Under-15s beat Driffield 39-7.

Cameron scored two tries early on as Malton put together some great phases of play and they refused to take it easy with captain, and man of the match, Ben Fawcett leading the charge.

Will Wood cleared out every ruck and Saki Kaitoga got in on the act and scored two barmstorming solo tries.

Driffield scored and coverted in the second half but Josh Wainwright remained confident under the high ball and was able to mount venomous attacks and Hudson got the final score to cap a fine display.

Malton & Norton U13s earned derby day bragging rights with a 50-22 victory over Driffield.

Driffield roared into a 12-0 lead with two good tries. But excellent work from the home forwards was turned into points by George Austin-Thompson and Jack Villa-Fordon.

A further score for the visitors had Malton on the back foot. However, just before the interval, Austin-Thompson raced in under the posts for a slender 19-17 advantage at the break.

Playing with the slope and the breeze, Malton dominated the second period from the moment Freddie Lockwood powered over near the sticks.

The pack maintained the lion's share of possession, with quick ball enabling further tries from Austin-Thompson (2), Joe Browne and Villa-Fordon. Matthew Jefferson kicked five conversions.

Malton & Norton U12s played Derby and Mansfield in a mini-tour.

They lost narrowly to a strong Derby team 14-7 - putting in some excellent tackling which was only marred by one slight mistake which allowed the home side to score towards the end of the first half.

Midway through the second half, they were undone by a missed tackle as Derby scored again but their efforts were rewarded when Oliver Kelsey's turn of speed eluded the Derby defence for him to score.

Mansfield, meanwhile, were dispatched 28-0.

Up for the contest from the very beginning, Kelsey sped away from the tackles to score and, when they won a lineout against the throw, George Raines spun away to score from 10 metres out as Malton built a 14-0 lead at half-time.

Mansfield tried to get on the scoreboard following the restart but it was Malton who scored again, as Charlie Blackburn's great pass allowed Thomas Barker to further increase their lead.

The try of the tour followed just before full-time. Ben Edwards, Benjie Wilson, Thomas Robinson, Adam Finlinson, Barker and Billy Johnson were all involved before the ball went out for Jack Thomas to score in the corner.

Finlinson converted all the tries.

Malton & Norton U9s finished a tour of the midlands with three tight games against Mansfield.

Robert Knaggs started the scoring for Malton and the game finished 12-10 in the Ryedale side's favour with Knaggs crossing a total of four times, along with Matthew Saxby (2), Edward Morley (1), Peter Pilling (3) and Max Bradshaw (1).

Knaggs got three in the second game and there were fine solo tries from Pilling, Saxby, Jack Fletcher and Edward Browne as the game finished in a 7-7 draw.

The third game was tightly fought until Mansfield suffered some injuries and the game became a five-a-side encounter.

The game finished 13-8 to Malton, whose scorers were Edward Browne (2), Tom Ray (3), Knaggs (5), Saxby (2) and Bradshaw.
