MALTON & Norton Under-11s stormed into the Yorkshire Cup quarter-finals with a 35-12 win over Dinnington.

Malt immediately put the visitors under pressure with great attacking play. Max Lane got the ball out to Leon Cook who barged through before passing to Danny Mullaney to sidestep home.

Dinnington levelled but excellent scrummaging and rucking saw Malt start to dominate. Great passing from Ollie McBeath then saw Connor Saxby dive in for a memorable try, while after half-time good interlinking play released Cook to storm in. Malt’s front row of Luke Humphries, Harry Lister and William Hicks were fearsome, and the fourth try came from Guy Scothern following more strong forward play.

Dinnington bagged an opportunistic try but Malt surged again late on with skilful handling by George Welch and a try by Alastair Keen. Full-back Mullaney added all the extras, while Lane was man of the match.
