OVER 7,000 tickets have been sold for England Men’s Six Nations open training session at the LNER Community Stadium next month.

As The Gazette & Herald previously reported, Steve Borthwick’s squad will head to the city on March 1 for the session, which will take place from 10am to approximately 12:30pm.

Tickets, which cost just a £1 booking fee, are available to purchase via the York Stadium Management Company website here.

The open training session will be England’s second, with the first taking place at Twickenham on Friday (February 16).

“The players and coaches want to bring the supporters as close to this team as possible, so we are looking forward to heading to York to do just that,” Borthwick enthused.

“It’s exciting to be able to put on open training sessions like this, both in Twickenham and in York, because it’s a chance for us to show the supporters how hard we are working behind-the-scenes.”

England currently sit second in the Six Nations table, having backed up an opening day 27-24 triumph against Italy in Rome with a 16-14 victory at home to Wales on Saturday.

Borthwick’s side will hope to carry that form into their clash with Scotland, who were controversially denied victory against France on Saturday, when the sides meet at Murrayfield on February 24.
