THE Peacock recorded their first win of the Moors Darts League season after being on the brink on several occasions. 

Colin Hunt (140,3x100 scores), Jack Taylor, Julie Hunt (100) and Rob McPherson (120) set up the Snainton side’s 6-4 triumph over Buck Inn A, which was sealed by success in both pairs legs. 

Chris Freer (140,123,100) shone as usual for Buck while Nick Taylor notched a fine 180 in his individual leg. Col Ward (139) joined Freer and Taylor to wrap up the match in the three-a-side.

Meanwhile, at the top, there’s no stopping Royal Oak A as they romped to an 8-2 victory over visitors White Swan.

Addy Durrant (140,3x100), Sam Myers (140,2x100) and Tom Hodgson (5x100) were on sparkling form for the Gillamoor side who are now a massive seventeen points clear with four games remaining.

Julie Day and Tim Nichols (140,100,68 checkout) claimed Swan’s consolation points in the first and last individual legs.

The Sun Inn teams lying joint second in the table cancelled each other out in a competitive 5-5 draw. 

The B side playing away, edged ahead through Sarah Hodgson (125,2x100), Nie Monkman (100), Kev Reynoldson and Al Hodgson (99x3) with James Dowkes (60 checkout), John Bristow (140,135,2x100) and Mike Brown (123) keeping the A’s in touch. 

The A’s Geoff Allen (2x100) and Neil Robson (4x100) and the B’s Jon Scarth (133) were excellent as the pairs legs were shared before Anna Sellars coolly pinned double top to tie the match in the threes.

Fourth-placed Buck Inn B had to fight for a 5-5 draw at home to Royal Oak B.

Ian Sonley (2x100), Pete Dowsland, Darren Sunley (3x100) and Rob Sonley put Oak ahead 4-3 in the singles before Ian and partner Will Gibson (2x100) made it impossible to lose in the first pairs. 

Keith Dickson (100, 67 finish), Robbie Preston (2x100) and Mick Barnes (2x100) were on target for Buck, with Barnes a part of the three-a-side team alongside Sam Dickson and Amy Wrigglesworth (121,100) who completed the comeback.

Coach House got the better of a mid-table clash at New Inn, emerging with a 6-4 victory.

 Matt Cook (100, 54 finish), Lewis Barraclough (100), Chris O’Hara and the excellent Rich Gillings (120,4x100) put Coach in the driving seat with Dave Camp, Darren Marsh (100) and Scott Plowman (2x100) gaming for the home side. 

Will Pepler (100) and Mike Lawson levelled for New Inn in the first pairs before Coach took the second and completed the job with O’Hara, Martin Myers and Bryan Cook in the threes.
