I READ with glee in the Gazette & Herald that Ryedale Show is to continue to maintain its policy of strictly keeping up its tradition of a top-class show of animals, horses, cattle, sheep and pigs.
Crowds flock to the show – no gimmicky shindigs required here to draw thousands of people, town and country folk alike.
What a great pity the York Racecourse hierarchy couldn’t take a leaf out of Ryedale Show’s book and keep our beloved racecourse for top-class horse racing and stop trying to attract non-genuine racegoers to a booze-up, knees-up, Mother Brown.
