DOES anyone remember the cottage at Home Farm, Swinton, near Malton, which was occupied by the Women’s Land Army?
There is casual mention of it in advertisements, but there appears to be no further information. I would like to know the location of the old house, which was used by the YWCA as a hostel for the Land Army in Terrington. Does anyone remember the Land Army at Grange Garth or Rolston Hall?
If your mother or grandmother worked as a Land Army girl and resided in any of these hostels, or any other WLA hostel, do contact me, also if you have photos of any hostels. This is for a book about the Land Army Hostels in Yorkshire. There were more than 45 hostels in Yorkshire and I have information about most of them but nothing about the one in Goole, Aughton, or Crockey Hill.
