SCARBOROUGH and Ryedale Carers Resource has been given funding to produced a calendar highlighting the role of carers.
The money, from the Yorkshire Coast Homes’ Your Choice, Your Vote 2014 Awards, will go towards the production of the calendar, which will be used to raise awareness and highlight what inspires those people in a caring role.
The aim is to also celebrate the meaning of the word carer and to break down barriers to care for disabled people.
Scarborough and Ryedale Carers Resource is inviting carers to send inspirational photographs of what makes them happy, what they enjoy looking at or doing, for example a sea view, historic building or simply a bunch of flowers.
They should also include a couple of sentences of why they have chosen the photograph and why it uplifts them.
All the money raised by the calendars will be used by the charity, which provides support to carers throughout Scarborough and Ryedale.
Entries should be emailed to staff@carersresource.net or sent to FREEPOST RSBA-HSHU-YKZZ, Scarborough & Ryedale Carers Resource, 96 High Street, Snainton, Scarborough, YO13 9AJ by Friday, August 22.
