COLOURFUL bunting lined the streets of Pickering to highlight the town’s efforts in a world record attempt.
Various groups and organisations in the town took part in the challenge as part of Fairtrade Fortnight.
The bunting has been on display in shops, the tourist information centre, the Memorial Hall and Pickering library and will now be sent to the Fairtrade Foundation in London, along with bunting from all the country, with the aim of breaking the world record for the longest string of bunting.
Alison Dunn, from the Pickering Fairtrade Town Group, said Pickering Junior School, Pickering Rainbows, Pickering School’s Out Club, Pickering Fairtrade Town Group, 3rd Pickering Brownies and Alba Rose Residential Home had taken part in the project.
