POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a spate of graffiti in the Thirsk area.
There have been several reports of graffiti-related incidents in the area over the last week.
Officers received reports on April 12 that the Parochial Hall in Sowerby had been defaced, with offenders spraying paint on to an exterior wall.
Later that day, a car in South Terrace, Sowerby, was damaged after a line of paint was sprayed down its side.
The following day blue paint was sprayed on to the wall of a footpath which runs alongside Cod Beck and paint was also found under the road bridge which runs over the beck.
At about 8.20pm on April 14 three men were seen to spray paint on to a wall in Chapel Street, before making off in the direction of Town End.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incidents or knows who is responsible for the graffiti to come forward.
Anyone with information should phone Sgt Lindsey Midgley on 0845 6060247.
