THE hunt continues for the owner of a lost ring which turned up during a refit at a Ryedale supermarket.

As we reported last month, the ring was found behind a fridge during recent renovation work at the Morrisons superstore in Malton.

It is a nine-carat gold ruby ring and although its financial value is unknown, it may be of great sentimental value.

David Charlton, the store’s general manager, said he believed it may belong to a woman who came into the store about two years ago claiming to have lost her ring.

The ring was found during works to introduce an 8,000sq ft extension to the store.
