ONCE again Kirkbymoorside Council, Ryedale District Council and many residents of Kirkbymoorside are preparing to fight Tay Homes plans for the site of Hodgsons garage.
The plans were refused, Tay Homes appealed and, as a result, a public enquiry is to be held at Ryedale House on December 5 and 6.
The plans are for 33 dwellings, three-bedroom houses and two-bedroom three-storey flats. There is no room for garages, only parking bays.
There is only one entrance on Westfields, only one school, no reliable bus
service, no jobs, no entertainment, no fast-food suppliers as in cities.
Already we have too many "affordable houses". Many people from big towns including Middlesbrough, Hull, Manchester, etc have been placed in them and understandably hate it.
Tay Homes suggests it give a strip of land to widen West Lund to enable cars
to park there. The southern end of West Lund could not be widened because properties already there would stop it. Tay Homes says the Highway Authority
could pay for this.
Unless the residents of Kirkbymoorside who value their homes and environment
support our objections on December 5 and 6 then they have only themselves to blame if the ambience of Kirkbymoorside is destroyed. Do come to the enquiry, which is public.
