Words seem so inadequate

When describing how we feel,

About this lovely lady,

Whose warmth she'd never conceal.

From three weeks old she nursed us,

With tender loving care,

And whatever was to happen,

We knew she'd always be there.

Those Granny Mary breakfasts,

The trips out in the car,

The baking lessons and rainbow cakes,

Made her our shining star.

She advised, encouraged and supported us

With all our hopes and dreams,

And filled our hearts with happiness

And laughter to split our seams.

But now she's moved on without us,

Our hearts are heavy today,

Yet she's deep within our memory,

And is where she'll always stay.

We soon smile as we remember

The fun with her we had,

Such joy and love she's given,

For which we're all so glad.

There's no one quite like Grandma,

The saying is so true,

Of our beloved Gran Mary

We owe so much to you.

Thank you and God bless.
