A NEW lift has opened up access to education at Norton College for Rachel Benhamou - and she's just the first disabled youngster who the facility will benefit.
The college has been working to provide the lift for the last year, and it is finally ready. With complete disabled facilities now in place, the school is now a designated school for disabled students.
Press officer Neil Hodges said: "This means that students can attend their local school and not have to go elsewhere to get their education. Here, they can be with their friends."
The lift means that disabled youngsters can go to classes on the upper floor of the school, and not have to make other arrangements to attend classes they want to study.
