BUDDING Beckhams and Owens took on one of the country's top football stars, Jonathan Greening, when he led a master class during the half-term holiday at the Northern Ryedale Leisure Centre in Pickering.
The Middlesbrough player, who previously played for Man United, York City and Scarborough, demonstrated his skills as the youngsters bravely tackled him on the centre's astroturf pitch.
The 20-plus youngsters agreed Jonathan had fired their enthusiasm and given them some great tips for their next inter-school games.
The day was part of a week-long soccer school held by Nigel Carson. A similar course was held at Norton College, where Greening also made an appearance.
