Ryedale Lions has thanked all the businesses who sponsored and supported Santa’s Sleigh following another highly successful year.

Some £12,000 was raised and this money has already started to be distributed to help charities and good causes across north Ryedale.

Ryedale Lions are now seeking supporters for this year's Santa's Sleigh. Sleigh sponsorship starts from £100 per run and there are other ways of getting involved in supporting Ryedale Lions biggest single fund raising event.

Ryedale Lions operate from Ebberston and Allerston right across to Ampleforth and Oswaldkirk so include Thornton le Dale, Pickering, Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley with their area.

Santa’s Sleigh makes over 20 trips around the towns and villages so there are plenty of opportunities for businesses to support and get involved through sponsorship. There is a running LED on the sleigh which acknowledges all sponsors whenever the sleigh is out and in addition each sponsor is exclusively featured on all Ryedale Lions social media channels on the day of their chosen outing.

Ryedale Lions also seek to raise the profile of sponsors through press, audio and social media channels through out the year.

This year's sponsors many of whom have been with Ryedale Lions started the initiative three years ago, are -The Black Swan Pickering, Big Bear Bikes, We Store Kirkbymoorside, Green Building Renewables, The Coach House Inn Rosedale, The Cayley Arms Allerston, Television House Pickering, JB Motors Malton, The Star Inn Harome, Crombie Wilkinson Solicitors, GNT Heating, Pickering Recreation Club, Evergreen Direct. Also AF Rayspeed for their support with the new sleigh.

Ryedale Lions President, Andrew Mansfiel said: “ We know how important Santa’s Sleigh is at Christmas for the people of Ryedale and want to maximise the good it can do for the area. It is fantastic to be able to give local businesses the opportunity to show their support and get involved. It would be amazing to get all the outings sponsored for this year and give us a great start.”
