Local charity Dementia Forward is running free education sessions for anyone who would like to understand more about the disease.
The sessions will take place on the second Wednesday of the month until July, at a Ryedale Community and Sports Club, off Scarborough Road in Norton. The next session is on Wednesday, March 6, from 2pm to 3pm.
The themes of the next five sessions will be as follows.

• Person-centred care - why is it important, how can we do it effectively.
• Rarer dementias including: young onset dementia / dementia and learning disabilities / alcohol-related dementia
• Prevention - Ways to delay or reduce dementia risk
There is no need to book, but please contact Dementia Forward if you would like further information. If you or someone you care for is living with dementia and you would like support, please contact the Helpline on 03300 578592 or visit www.dementiaforward.org.uk.
