CHILDREN at Norton Primary School had a surprise visit from Father Christmas at the end of term.

The school's Teaching Assistant's Committee helped create a special grotto and each pupil was given the opportunity to make some reindeer food and make a wish for Santa. We hope that their Christmas wishes came true."

A spokesperson for the committee said: "The children’s faces were a picture and I am sure you can see why, as the grotto - usually the foundation nursery’s shed - was completely transformed, all by the hands of those clever ‘Elves’.

"We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the local businesses, parents and wider community, for their generosity in donations towards our recent Bingo fundraiser. You helped make the night a complete success and we were overwhelmed with your kindness and support."
