Terrington Hall Year 8 pupil Oliver Belcher has been awarded an Academic Scholarship to Scarborough College from September.

Oliver, 12, excelled among a field of strong candidates who were assessed in various academic subjects and skills, both on paper and in interview.

Scarborough College Headmaster Guy Emmett said the Scholarship recognised “the potential Oliver demonstrated during the selection process and the belief that he has much to offer to the Scarborough College Community.”

Simon Kibler, Headmaster of Terrington Hall School, said: “Oliver has done extremely well and thoroughly deserves this Academic Scholarship award. He is talented academically but also contributes much to our school community.

“He is a School Prefect with specific responsibility for Wellbeing, a talented rugby player, and plays the guitar beautifully. He is a real asset to Terrington Hall and I have no doubt he will go on to fulfil his promise at Scarborough College. Well done, Oliver!”
