THE author of children’s books set in North Yorkshire is to visit a bookshop in Pickering.

Children’s author Cressida Burton will visit Pickering Book Tree, Market Place, on Tuesday April 4 for a talk and book signing event. 

Cressida writes about ponies, adventures and shares boarding school stories for readers aged eight years and older.

All of her stories are set on the North Yorkshire coast and within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.

There are four published books in the Ravensbay series, and book five of the series is in development.

Cressida has also published a stand-alone book, The Starlight Pony.

The event will start at 6.30pm, with doors open from 6pm.

Cressida will talk about how she became a writer, and what inspired her to write the Ravensbay series.

She’ll read extracts from the first book in the series and from The Starlight Pony.

There will also be the chance to ask questions and talk to Cressida while she signs copies of her books.
