A MAN was arrested after being spotted driving "erratically" in Malton and then trying to escape at high speed through the town.
He was also found in possession of various drugs.
In a post on social media, North Yorkshire Police roads policing group said they'd seen the vehicle moving erratically in Malton.
"The driver attempted to avoid us by driving at high speed through the town centre, and hiding in an industrial estate with his headlights switched off," they said.
"He subsequently failed roadside tests for both alcohol and cocaine and was found in possession of cannabis and diazepam.
"Checks showed the vehicle belonged to a family member and he was not insured to drive it."
They added that the vehicle was seized and the driver was arrested.
