A FIXTURE of Malton’s Wheelgate, the clothing store M&Co, turned 30 this week - and the anniversary was celebrated by staff and the store’s manager who has been there from day one.
Lorraine Walker, 57, started work at M&Co aged 27 in 1988, starting as a 16-hour person, then a supervisor, and now as manager both of the Malton store and the one at Knaresborough.
She said: “I’ve enjoyed it - I love coming to work and that’s something you don’t hear a lot.”
To mark its anniversary, the store had a weekend of discounts and staff brought in balloons, cake and special "Lorraine" roses for their manager.
