THE winners of Ryedale’s second business awards were announced at a celebratory event yesterday (Tuesday).

Held at the White Swan in Ampleforth, the award ceremony was attended by nominees, sponsors and local business representatives.

The winners were: Young Entrepreneur - No Limit Cycling; Learning and Development - Rosti Automotive and highly-commended - Helmsley Walled Garden; Community Contributions -White Swan, Ampleforth; Rural Diversification - Fabric and Flora, Gilda Brader of Thixendale; Long Standing Business -Claridges of Helmsley; Best Dressed Shop Window - Dales of Malton: Food and Drink Hero -Beadlam Grange Farm Shop; and Ryedale Champion - Thomas the Baker.

Sponsors include the John Cracknell Youth Enterprise Bank, Horsetown Beers, Fergus Court Funeral Services, Studford Luxury Lodges, Cuckavalda Gundogs, RV Rogers, In-Print Colour and Alex Yoxall.

Anna Lupton, owner of Carr House Farm B&B near Ampleforth and a driving force behind the awards, said: “I am delighted after coming up with the idea of the Ryedale Business Awards and the support it received last year that we are once again holding the event.

“We have so many businesses in Ryedale to be proud of, some of which go under the radar.

“The standard of entries has been very high and it was a difficult choose for the judges to select the finalists.”
