A NEW three-part documentary series will take viewers behind-the-scenes at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) as it celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

The NYMR granted unprecedented access to DSP, part of the Endemol Shine Group, whose co-managing directors Emily Dalton and Donna Clark, describe the show as “a real celebration of the extraordinary heritage and traditions of the country’s railways”.

A special preview will be aired at Welcome to Yorkshire’s tourism show, Yorkshire on Show, on Wednesday, March, 21, while Channel 5 will air the series later in the year.

Earlier this year, the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) awarded NYMR £4.6m as part of the £9.2m sustainability project, NYMR’s Yorkshire’s Magnificent Journey Appeal.

To deliver the investment programme, the NYMR must raise approx. £2.5M from members, passengers and the public over the next five years.
