A MALTON business owner has raised over £453 for charity by taking part in a 24-hour sponsored ‘spinathon’.

Chris Holloway, manager of Captain Barney’s in Malton, took part in the event to raise money for St Leonard’s Hospice in York.

He was joined by customers, other local business owners, players from the ladies super league and ex York City player Andy McMillan. The spin bike was loaned by the gym at Norton College.

Chris said, “Having seen first-hand the amazing work of the Hospice, I wanted to raise as much as possible to help fund its future. The support I had was fantastic I have already begun to plan next year’s event to support this great charity.”
