FIREFIGHTERS are taking part in a charity car wash next weekend.
Crews from Malton will be washing vehicles at Morrisons in Castlegate, on Saturday, August 19, from 10am to 4pm.
The event has been organised by retained firefighter Ian Orledge to raise funds for the Fire Fighters' Charity.
He said: “Last November I suffered a back injury and received two weeks' rehabilitation treatment by the charity. I wanted to do something to thank them and to raise funds towards the work that they do which includes helping those suffering from illness, injuries and mental health issues.”
Donations are accepted on the day, including £5 per car. Cadets from the 1323 Squadron based in Norton will also be helping. The event will include a raffle and is sponsored by Ray Chapman Motors.
