BUDDING journalists at St Benedict’s School, in Ampleforth, have set up their own newspaper.
The school has been running a journalism club for the last two terms involving pupils from Key Stage 1 and 2.
A school spokesman said: “The children have really taken to it and their enthusiasm has allowed us to launch a 24 page in-school paper.
“This has become so well read we can now ask for advance subscriptions and have added a cover price meaning costs are covered. The paper is also sold in the community to our parishioners.”
Meanwhile, the school has also received a visit from Mark Sherwood, Foundation Coach at York City Football Club after the school was picked to take part in the Catholic Cup Football Tournament. Mark spent time at the school carry out a training session.
