A BREWERY which supports the local horseracing industry is hosting its first beer festival this weekend.

The Horsetown Beer Festival will be on Saturday, at the Whole Hogg, Howe Bridge Farm on the A169 Malton to Pickering Road. It starts at 6pm and finishes late.

Howard Kinder, owner of Horsetown Beer, said: “All our Malton Beers will be on draught straight from the cask. In addition, there will also be a normal bar, including soft drinks, wine, Prosecco and all main line spirits.

“Our real ales that will be on sale straight from the cask are Malton Races Dark Bitter, Whitewall Golden Bitter, Musley Bank Classic Ale and Middleham Heritage Ale. Our Blink Bonny Lager and Highfield Gallops Apple Cider will be served ice cold straight from the keg. All our beers will be just £3 a pint.

“The evening entertainment will be provided by the Skapones who are playing live. They are one of the top SKA bands in the country and they have headlined and supported some very well known bands, including the Specials and Sliencerz.

“There will also be a hog toast included in your ticket price.”

Tickets cost £10 which includes your first pint or any other drink, a hog roast cob, plus the live band. £1 from every ticket and 10p per drink will be donated to Racing Welfare in Malton. For details, go to horsetownbeers.com
