AN inquest has been opened into the death of a Ryedale man who was killed in a car crash on the A169 last week.
Stuart “Paddy” Westoby, 57, from Pickering, died when the blue Mini Cooper he was travelling in came off the road, just before 10pm on Sunday, May 14.
North Yorkshire Police said that the car broke through a fence and crashed into a resident’s garden, close to The Black Bull Inn. A second man, in his 20s, was taken to hospital with injuries.
Mr Westoby’s inquest was opened and adjourned on Friday, May 19 in Scarborough.
