A FAMILAR face in Ryedale has taken over the role of clerk to Malton Town Council.
Gail Cook was previously a community partnership officer at Ryedale District Council and worked for the authority for 26 years.
The 44-year-old, who lives in Swinton with her husband Rob and 10-year-old son Henry, replaces Mike Skehan, who was Malton Town Council clerk for 16 years. “I want to ensure we are fully using new technology,” she said.
“I also have good relationship with a number of agencies which I can use and develop. I look forward to working with the town councillors and council staff, including assistant clerk Jude Ward.”
