BALLET dancers at Dance Expression in Norton are celebrating a string of successes.
Lily Walker, 10, has been invited to the International Dance Teachers’ Association’s awards ceremony after she received 94 in her Grade 5 exam, the highest mark Dance Expression has ever had.
Fellow dancer Lucy Metcalfe, 12, has been offered a place on the Centre of Advanced Training programme at the Northern Ballet School in Leeds.
Anna Baggaley, who runs Dance Expression with her sister, Lucy Walker, said: “It’s a huge achievement for both girls. We also have Isabel Ward who has been offered another year on the Northern Ballets Inter Foundation Associate programme, Emily Walker has been offered a place on the Junior Associate programme and Jessica Huntsman has gained another year on the Royal Ballet’s Junior Associate programme.
“We then received the highest exams marks we have ever had with a 94 and four 90s, as well as many, many distinctions. We are very proud of all them.”
