POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an incident in which a man was struck with a suspected knuckle-duster and bitten by a dog.

The assault happened on West Road, Filey, close to the junction with Ash Road at around 5.20pm on Saturday, November 26.

According to police, a man was assaulted by another man thought to be in possession of the knuckle-duster.

The victim was 'struck with the blunt object' and also bitten by a dog - but did not require hospital treatment for his injuries.

One man has since been arrested and is currently on police bail.

Police are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances.

In particular, they are appealing for information from anyone that might have witnessed the incident to come forward.
