Malton fire caused by unattended cooking
FIRE crews from Malton attended a fire at an address on Hudson Close in the north of the town yesterday afternoon.
Responding to the call, which came at 5.39pm, crews went to the house to find a fire in the kitchen.
The fire service have said that the occupant, a man aged in his 60s, was taken to hospital via road ambulance with shock.
The Red Cross are now assisting him.
The cause of the fire was found to be 'cooking being left unattended'.
