THREE work colleagues are taking on a charity challenge to help the fight against dementia.

Gemma Grover, Sarah Richardson and Luke Simpson, who all work at Skipton Building Society in Malton, are walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks for Alzheimer's Society.

Gemma said they hoped to to raise more than £300 by taking part in the challenge on July 16.

"The reason we decided to take part in this challenge for Alzheimer’s Society is because we see it affects so many people and their families," she said.

"It will be a tough challenge but it’s great to know that we will be raising funds to help support people to live well with dementia today and fund research to find a cure for tomorrow."

Jeremy Hughes, chief executive at Alzheimer’s Society, said: "We are delighted that Skipton Building Society in Malton are giving their time to support Alzheimer’s Society.

"About 225,000 will develop dementia this year, that’s one every three minutes.

"As a charity, we rely on the generosity of individuals like Gemma, Sarah and Luke to help us continue our vital work. Please back Sarah, Gemma and Luke in their fundraising efforts so that Alzheimer's Society can continue leading the fight against dementia."
