SIGHT Support Ryedale is holding an event in Malton next week as part of Macular Awareness Week.

Held in the Market Place, the information stand will provide eye health advice for those with sight problems.

Janice Every, the Outreach Co-ordinator at Sight Support Ryedale, said: "We are encouraging people to come and find out more about how to care for their eyes, . “Why not come along to find out how we can help you."

Janice added: “Many eye conditions do not have symptoms early on, but fifty per cent of sight loss could be avoided or improved if certain conditions are diagnosed in time. I will be at the event, along with some of the members of Sight Support Ryedale, and we would be delighted to chat with you. If you already have a visual impairment, but are unaware of the help available, we’d be pleased to give you information and advice.”

The stand will be in the Market Place, near St Michael’s Church, between 9.30am and 2.30pm on Saturday, June 25.
