PUPILS at two primary schools are upping their game with a new sports kit.
Hovingham and St. Hilda's in Ampleforth have new sports kit which was funded by the Friends of Hovingham School (FOHS) and St Hilda's School Fund.
The two schools, which are federated, have entered various Ryedale Cluster Inter School Competitions this academic year.
The first summer term event was Year Five and Six Tag Rugby which took place at Ryedale School.
Headteacher James Pynn said: "As well as the excitement of taking part in the competition, there was much excitement over the new team kit.
"The children all looked amazing and it really brought them together as a team. The standard of play was excellent and it was noticeable how play improved over the five games.
"We finished in a very respectable fourth place and as always, our enthusiasm and sportsmanship were excellent. Well done everyone."
