HAS anyone else seen the stunning skies over North Yorkshire this morning?

The mother-of-pearl clouds are thought to be nacreous clouds - also known as polar stratospheric clouds or PSCs. They form in the stratosphere at very low temperatures.

Reader John Benson, from Burythorpe, has sent us these pictures he took at York Science Park.

"I witnessed the most breathtaking rainbow cloud. As well as running my own business, I am also a pilot and have seen some amazing rainbows when flying over North Yorkshire, but this something completely new to me."
