TRIBUTES have been paid to a man "who would do anything for anybody".

Lee Hodgson, from West Heslerton, died following an accident at his garage in Rillington last Wednesday.

Mr Hodgson, who was 44, grew up in West Heslerton at his family home with parents Jean and Steve and brother Gary.

His interest in mechanics started at an early age setting up a garage at his home and working on 50cc motorbikes from the age of 11.

After leaving school, Mr Hodgson worked at Mick Barker's garage in Malton where he worked his way up to foreman.

Mr Hodgson then started his own garage and business at Eastgate, Pickering, before progressing to bigger premises at Station Yard in Rillington.

His family said: “On Wednesday, January 20, Lee tragically lost his life in a work-related incident.

"Lee had owned the premises for eight years and had worked tirelessly to realise his dream. He was a highly-respected mechanic and business owner, a Master of his Trade and a hard working fair and honest man.

"His family intend to fulfill Lee's dream and will work tirelessly to ensure his vision is realised

"Lee was a much-loved son, brother, dad, uncle, grandad, partner and friend too many. Lee was a hardworking man who would do anything for anyone. He will be missed more than words can say.

"In time the family may take some solace in the fact this wonderful man died doing what he loved best, right now however, his death has devastated all those who knew and loved him."

Funeral details for Mr Hodgson have yet to be confirmed.
