A TODDLER who became trapped in a chair has been freed by fire fighters using washing up liquid.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to Chestnut Bank in the Woodlands area, Scarborough at about 9.40am this morning where a 13-month-old boy had trapped his arm down the back of a dining chair.

Crews from Scarborough Fire Station used washing up liquid to ease his arm free from the chair.

The little boy was checked over by the ambulance crew at the scene and was not taken to hospital.
