POLICE in Whitby are appealing to members of the public to help them trace a group of men, believed to be from the Hartlepool area.

Officers are keen to talk to them as they may have important information about the damage caused to a vehicle on Haggersgate in Whitby.

These CCTV images of the group have been released in the hope someone who recognises them comes forward. 

On Saturday, May 23 between 8.30-9pm a man ran out in front of a black Ford Fiesta being driven down the road. He climbed on to the bonnet and ran across the roof before jumping onto the road and walking away. Extensive damage was caused to the car as a result.

Officers want to speak to the man shown in the light-coloured T-shirt and the group of men he was with.
