The clock will be turned back centuries as the jewel in the crown of the National Trust celebrates its place in the international stage.
Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal near Ripon, will be celebrating its World Heritage Site status by hosting a medieval encampment.
Re-enactment society Rosa Mundi will be recreating life in a medieval village during the abbey’s 15th-century heyday complete with the sights and smells of the era.
The events on Saturday, April 18, are being held to mark World Heritage Day and also include activities, games, cookery, archery and tours of the estate.
