A WOMAN was seriously injured when she was struck by a heavy goods vehicle near Whitby.
North Yorkshire Police said the collision happened on the A174 at Sandsend at about 5.30pm on Thursday, outside The Hart Inn.
The 66-year-old woman from the Goole area received serious leg injuries and was taken to James Cook University Hospital where she remains in a stable condition. The driver of the HGV, a 64-year-old man from York, was uninjured.
