PUPILS from across Ryedale have been celebrating the end of their primary school days.

The Year Six students held special assemblies which included presentations and memories of their time at school.

Many pupils also took part in musical productions and plays before the summer break.

Gillamoor Primary School held a special service at the village church with the seven pupils moving to secondary schooling giving a speech outlining some of their favourite memories. They were then all presented with a Bible from St Aidan’s and a book from the Diocese.

As well as treating the Year 6 to lunch in the village pub, the leaving ceremonies concluded the following day, with ice creams for all as the school also said goodbye to teacher Hannah Bracey, who after four years with the junior class, is moving to Huby Primary School.

Chair of Governors, Sue Mumford said “ Hannah has had high expectations of the pupils under her care, and they have responded. For that, we are all truly grateful to her and we wish her well in the future.”
