STUDENTS from Malton School, Norton College and Lady Lumley’s School, Pickering, are going head to head in a talent contest in aid of local charity Acorn Community Care.

A total of 15 acts will battle it out in Malton’s Milton Rooms on Friday, July 4, at 7pm, to raise money for the Norton-based charity, which supports adults with learning difficulties.

Bands, singers, dancers and comedians will take to the stage for the event, which is being sponsored by the Gazette & Herald. The show will be opened by last year’s winner, magician Matt Woollens.

Organised by Di Keal, the event is being held for a second year following the huge success of last year’s Malton and Norton’s Got Talent.

Di said: “Almost as soon as the curtain went down last year people were asking if we could do it all again in 2014 and as the students and audience all seemed to enjoy themselves so much we decided to go for it.

“This year Lady Lumley’s is also taking part and the senior students from all three schools have got together to choose the local charity which will benefit from the night.

“I have seen some of the acts who will be appearing from the schools and there are some amazingly-talented young people appearing in the show which everyone will enjoy. It would be great to see the Milton Rooms full on the night and raise as much as we can for Acorn Community Care.”

The evening will also feature a grand raffle. Tickets are available from all three schools during the school day.
