A MALTON man who stole more than £30 worth of food from a supermarket has been put on an eight-week curfew.
Justin Anthony Walker, 42, of Yorkersgate, Malton, pleaded guilty to attempting to steal food from Costcutters, in Commercial Street, Norton, worth £31.47 on December 28 last year.
Walker was served with a community order at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on Friday on the condition that he remains at his home in Yorkersgate between the hours of 7pm to 7am every day for eight weeks.
Walker also admitted to breaching an existing community order made at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court in August last year.
Walker was also given a community order after an incident on September 6, 2012, when he assaulted Fiona Davidson by beating her.
He was found to be in breach of the order after failing to comply with the unpaid work requirement of the order on September 15, last year, and January 12, this year.
