NORTON’S first Christmas tree festival has been hailed a success.
Organised by St Peter’s Church, Reverend Rachel Hirst said the event featured 30 trees from groups and businesses.
“More than 400 people visited the festival and we raised £580 in donations to be shared between Ryedale Special Families, Next Steps and St Peter’s Church,” she said.
Rev Hirst said a vote for the most popular tree was won by Norton Primary School, with Brian Ellison stables second and Norton Brownies third.
