MORE than 80 paintings from a major collection are to go on show at the Pannett Art Gallery in Whitby.
A Passion For Paintings – The Yorkshire Collection of Claire & Bert Rendall, includes works by Owen Bowen, Fred Lawson, Mary Weatherill, James Ulric Walmsley and Philip Naviasky, the youngest-ever student to be accepted into Royal Academy Schools.
Bert Rendall was a prodigious collector of art. After marrying Claire in 1959 and bringing up three children in the 1960s, he began seriously collecting art works in the 1970s, focusing on Yorkshire artists.
The exhibition runs from Saturday, February 9, until Sunday, March 24. The Pannett Art Gallery is open every Tuesday to Sunday, from 9.30am to 4.30pm. Admission free.
