VISITORS to Nunnington Hall are in for a treat this summer when the property undertakes a unique collaboration with one of the country’s leading bands, Guillemots.

The hall is showing, Sometimes I Remember Wrong, an exhibition that will showcase a different side to the group’s creativity.

Consisting of drawings, photographs, sculpture, film and journals, the exhibition promises a rare insight into one of the country’s most enigmatic and creative music forces.

The idea for the exhibition came about when Simon Lee, Nunnington Hall’s operations manager, saw some drawings by the band’s front man Fyfe Dangerfield.

“We did a classical music concert here at Nunnington in 2010 with the cellist Natalie Clein and Fyfe had written some beautiful pieces of music for her that she played on the night which sparked my interest,” Simon said.

“I later saw Fyfe’s drawings and we discussed an exhibition that would involve the whole band who are each artistic in different ways.

“This exhibition will show another side to Guillemots beyond their music. I think it’s a really interesting and very exciting project”

The exhibition is open from June 14-July 31. The band will be launching the exhibition with a small intimate acoustic concert at the hall on Monday, June 13. Tickets are £20 and booking is essential.
